Kemishan is a new face in the Industry but many know his song titled Big Bumper, he released it a few months ago but up to now the song is still making it big in the music Industry. Kemishan talked to Nathan Atiluk about his career and his plans in the music Industry
Who is Kemishan?
Kemishan is a young talented Ugandan artiste with a different touch of dance hall music in Uganda. I am a very simple, freestyle person with no boundaries and approachable.
Where did the name Kemishan come from?
First of all, my real names are Mark Lukwiga. Kemishan is just a name I use while on stage, It comes from my ability to see things from a long distance.
Tell us about your education background?
I was born and raised in Kampala, I went to Nabagereka primary school in old Kampala,I also joined Bat Valley primary school then went to Mbarara high school for ‘O’ level and Hilton High School mukono for A’ level before joining Kampala international University for my degree in journalism.
Why did you join music instead of following your career path?
I joined music because I had love for it. My friends also saw the talent in me and told me to continue with music.
If it wasn’t music, what you would you be doing?
I would be a journalist, radio presenter or somewhere in a production room because I was very good at editing videos and also producing programs, which I still do so well.
What are some of your songs apart from Big Bumper?
I have songs like Turn me on, Burn it up and Hey you among others.
What inspires you to do these songs?
Everyday life, I do not sing about things outside this world. When you hear and look at my video Big Bumper, it’s about the lady with big fine behind.
How do you define your style of music?
My style of music is basically Dancehall but am versatile. I can do all kinds of music at any time.
What are your future plans?
I have a lot of plans but for now I am focused on pushing my music to the next level and also crossing borders.
