The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Jinja has issued a warrant for the government to produce Jamil Mukulu, the ex ADF commander by 30th Jan 2017.
Mukulu who is on trial for terrorism was arrested in Tanzania and has been on remand in Luzira.
The last time he appeared in court, Mukulu accused government agents of torturing him and making him eat pork.
It is suspected that the failure to produce Mukulu maybe linked to the Nakasero Mosque raid and security concerns given his historic connection to the Mosque and its leadership.
At the height of his power, Mukulu was behind some of the most notorious terror attacks in Kampala, especially the grenade attacks on Kampala’s night spots and public places.
He along with the late Muhammad Kiggundu were also behind various attacks in the Rwenzori.
