West Nilers prove the love for Onduparaka FC when Club MegaFest went to Arua

By Our Reporter

Last Friday evening seemed like matchday as most of the people on the streets of Arua and those outside Greenlight Stadium the home of Onduparaka FC, the famous local football club hailing from Arua. It wasn’t match day but instead the Club beer had taken the Mega Fest to Arua.

Most of them, because of the love for their Club wore Green jerseys and the Clubs casual polo green T-shirts with the badge of Onduparaka FC and BetWay. Unlike other uptown towns, the revelers in Arua arrived at the event venue by 5pm and they were already lined up to pay the Shs10,000 or 50,000 for VIP access to the venue.

Salvador was the host of the event, he had a frestlye session with Khalifah Aganaga

DJ Andy, one of the Arua’s best got the crowd worked up for the three hours of nonstop music playing back to back until the Greenlight Stadium (venue for the event) was filled up with revelers carrying vuvuzelas and Onduparaka flags.

Performers based in Arua kicked off the night with acts like Simple Fredo, Eddy JO, Bara Spoken, King Weeder, LMB boys and JM Kennedy among others. All these had enough time on stage to pove that Arua has talent.

These left stage at a few minutes to midnight before Gravity Omutujju stepped on stage to work the crowd out. He performed a few songs before leaving stage for Team No Sleep’s Roden Y and Khalifa Aganaga stepped on stage and left it for the self-proclaimed Queen of the Area Sheeba Karungi. She performed songs like Ice Cream, Tunywe, Kisasi Kimu, Nkwatako and Akuse among others.

Chameleon proved he is the biggest artiste in Uganda as he defied odds to appear unique. The singer refused to perform with live as the organisers of the event had to bring Solid band from Kampala to play along with the singer.

The event ended at around 2am as boda-boda’s carried people from the dusty road leading to Vino Lounge, the only nightclub that was operating that night.
