2015/16 Uganda Cup winners sports club Vipers who doubles as Uganda’s Ambassadors for the CAF Confederation Cup has shifted their first two games to Mandela National stadium- Namboole including the Continental tie.
According to a press statement Xrated.co.ug has received from the Entebbe road based Giants, This resulted from unforeseen delays in the delivery of roofing materials for St. Mary’s Stadium (which Vipers is going to use as its home ground) something that slowed down roofing process.
“We wish to inform our fans, partners, sponsors and all well wishers of Vipers Sports Club that due to the unforeseen delays in the delivery of roofing materials for St. Mary’s Stadium, the home of Vipers Sports Club, our first two second round games have been shifted to Namboole” the statement partly communicated.
Among the games that have been shifted is Vipers’ Azam Uganda Premier League second round opener against fellow Entebbe road Rivals Lweza football Club in what is referred as ‘The Entebbe Road Derby’ and their CAF Confederations Cup game against Volcan Club de Moroni of Comoros.
“The two matches namely, our second round opening league match, Vipers SC Vs Lweza FC and the CAF Confederations Cup home match against Volcan Club de Moroni of Comoros, will be played at Mandela National Stadium Namboole” the statement further noted.
Lawrence Mulindwa’s boys (former FUFA President) will player Lweza on 7th and their CAF Confederation Game against Volcan Club de Moroni of Comoros on 11th February.
