For the first time ever, female Djs have decided to come together to headline an event in commemoration of Women’s Day which falls on March 8 every year. The event which will have 7 Djs playing will take place at Kyadondo Rugby grounds in Kampala on the eve of Women’s day celebration.
With Uganda Health Management Group coming in to support the event, the Djs that will be headlined for performances on that evening include DJ Mary-Joe who also doubles as the brains behind the event. Other Djs include Pofia, DJ Cathy, DJ Exile, DJ Rachael, DJ Lola and Sheila ATS.
Speaking to Dj Maryjo the brain behind the Ladies Affair event, she said that this event is mainly to bring together top female DJ’S in the country to celebrate with the world the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of the women. The event will have the 7 djs on one stage playing music back to back with each playing for one hour and in total, the event will run for 7 hours with no other acts apart from just the Djs.
While at the event, UHMG who are also the official sponsors of the event will have a bus set aside for health care for the women. Among the activities will be the Pilplan plus pills that will be given to the ladies inorder to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
The event will take place this Tuesday at Kayondo rugby club in Kampala and gates will be open from 4pm.
