When earlier today a video of a Sweden based Ugandan Rapper called Deluxe Dillinger aka Dlux Ibra Blasted Babaluku over claims that he is the father of Hip hop in Uganda surfaced.
Our reaction here at XratedNews Uganda, was why now? Where has Deluxe Dillinger been all this time? where was he when Babaluku was inspiring a movement of his own?
Bringing hip-hop to the streets, encouraging young Ghetto children to rap, to battle and to stay in school. While KlearKut Uganda’s burgeoning upper-class children to believe that what they saw on MTV then could be replicated in their own country.
When a movement of Lugaflow rappers was looking up to Babaluku as their leader, where was Deluxe Dillinger when Silas Balabye’ekubo laid his claim to the throne?
Deluxe Dillinger aka Dlux Ibra, one of the main members of the music group Young Vibez, a group that came to the scene with self-produced hip-hop music in the early 1990s on the streets of Kampala, he now claims Babaluku is an Imposter who even copied the name of his rap group Bataka Underground.
Everyone in this Industry from KlearKut, GNL, Hope Mukasa and his Bava Studios, and Sabrina’s Pub, Hot 100, Ragga Dee everybody has laid a brick on the Foundation of this industry, why is a group of unknowns claiming credit when few even remember their names?
The solution we can give these people claiming the throne now is to lay a claim in public, Hip-hop music has always had ways of solving these issues. A battle to the death.
