The Uganda Music Awards (TUMA) disclosed the contenders of the inaugural awards on 27th March 2017
Last week TUMA started their workshop kicks off its countrywide nominee workshops and concert tours with Mbale as the first stop. The insightful workshop will take place at Wash and Wills hotel with free entrance. The local artiste will be joined by the nominees in the Best Regional Artiste Eastern, Mr OJ, Isaiah Destiny, Josh Buxton, Mas de Rapper. Some of the topics covered were Branding, Music as a Business, PR & Media Manager.
After the insightful workshop, a nominee concert was held at El Tanjia.
The concert was featured by all the eastern region nominees and the guest star was Ykee Benda, giving fans a chance to vote for their favourite artiste as well as be entertained by great music
With these regional tours, TUMA intends to engage with the public as well as helping up and coming musicians in the regions.
TUMA Director, Enoq Ikiriza said ‘We are here for more than the artiste’s popularity and that is the technicality/quality they incorporate in their music therefore by holding workshops and a home grown concert in the region of Mbale. The tours will be held after every fortnight with Gulu as the next stop on the 22nd and 23rd of June.
