Before the Kampala Charity Show, the budget of the concert was leaked on social media and it showed that Tanzanian Singer Diamond Platinumz was given Shs165M to perform and Ugandan artistes were to share Shs20M. This forced artistes like Chameleoen, Bebe Cool, Radio and Weasel, Bobi Wine and Eddy Kenzo to snub the show because they felt undermined.
While on the microphone, Gravity attacked the event organsiers and the singer for being paid much money which is even the tax payers’ money. ‘’You are expatriating our money by giving it to a singer who is not event talented but is just a TV artiste, Diamond cannot even fill up Cricket Oval but when I was there, everyone saw what I was capable of’’ Gravity said.
This all came when DJ Shiru switched off the microphone during his performance and it didn’t favour his liking. According to those that shared the VVIP tent with KCCA officials headed by the Executive Director Jennifer Musisi, his facial expression showed she was so disappointed in the singer but couldn’t show.
After he stepped off stage, Gravity went back stage and when he was doing media interviews, security wanted to bounce him off the venue for saying whatever he said while on stage. He was confident telling them to come and bounce him in front of camera because what he did was helping the future of Ugandan music.
