The 1st edition of The Uganda Music Awards (TUMA)  went down last Saturday evening at Serena Hotel in Kampala.   To start with, the attendance of the Awards was not bad being their first edition as the crowd was moderate although there were no corporate tables at the event.

The show that start at 6pm  with a red carpet event where guests came in to take photos as they were then ushered to Victoria Hall later to start the event at 8pm. The Awards night that was hosted by Deedan Muyiira and singer Lillian Mbabazi kicked off with Singer Jemimah Sanyu with her energetic performance.

Eddy Kenzo was the biggest winner of the night but seems like he didn’t want anything from the Awards because he didn’t attend and his Awards were picked by his representatives. Other artistes who were a noshow were Sheeba Karungi, Rema, RabaDaba and Fille among others and it should be noted that Fille first ever award was the TUMA.

Other winners include Irene Ntale female artist of the year, Ykee Benda, Bruno K among others. They were also performances from B2C and Irene Ntale
