When Sheeba Karungi made it through to the competitive music Industry, she had almost all her songs making it to to the charts because they were all hits. This forced fans to ask her for a concert but the singer always told them she was not ready and that it was not the right time to hold the concert.
She continued doing good music and it was just last evening that the singer proved she was ready to headline a concert. History was witnessed last night at Hotel African when she filled Hotel Africana people’s space for her maiden concert. Africana Hotel was packed to the brim by 7: 30pm for Sheeba’s Nkwatako concert, for a person who hustled for over 10 years to make it big in the music Industry, she deserved the night as the fans never disappointed.
It was around 10pm when Sheeba took to the stage and before her performance, a short video of her life and how she struggled to make it big in the music Industry was played. It was so emotional and later got boring as people had waited long for the self-proclaimed Queen of the Area to step on stage.
A few minutes later, Sheeba was joined by a group of dancers as she came on stage performing Twesana, a song that brought her unveiled her to the Industry. She followed her performance with songs like Ice Cream, Automatic and Tunywe among others
Her energetic performance was followed by performances of collaborations like Omulembe with Aziz Azion, Farmer with Ykee Benda, Otubatisa with Irene Ntale who never showed up.
She closed the show with her single hit that has been on the lips of every Uganda Nkwantako. As Sheeba went to change for another musical session, Bebe Cool came on stage and performed Kabulengane and Azina Aseka then left stage for the woman of the night to get back to stage.
She came dressed in Military attire together with the dancers as they performed Kisasi Kimu. While performing the song, she told the crowd to observe a moment of silence for the Late Akay 47 who was a member of Team No Sleep. “ Akay 47 I wish you were here, we miss you, TNS misses you” Sheeba said as she went on with her performance.
Although her performance was on point, it didn’t move the crowd as they remained seated although their facial expressions showed they were enjoying the show. She climaxed the show at 11:35pm as she sang the title truck Nkwatako twice before calling it a night.
Sheeba will tonight be performing at Satelite Beach in Mukono and then proceed to Freedom City on Entebbe Road tomorrow.
