Police raids Kiwatule Mosque that Frequently hosts Pakistani Muslims: Has ISIS entered Uganda?

Just a few days after raiding Nakasero Mosque which is the Headquarters of the Salafist Tabliq sect, Uganda Police today raided the Kiwatule Mosque. Imam Sheikh Yunis Kabuye & 10 others

The Kiwatule Mosque that was raided today

Police arrest the Mosque’s Imam Sheikh Yunis Kabuye & 10 others who included Indian Muslims who have been staying at the Mosque.

According to an Eyewitness, the Indian Muslims were reported to Police and Police was Ok, with it.

The Kiwatule Mosque frequently hosts delegations from the Indian Subcontinent including those from countries like Pakistani which is the hotbed of Saudi Arabia’s Wahhabism students.

A police spokesman said they raid the mosque because they had intelligence suggesting there would be evidence linking the mosque to the Murder of Shiekh Muhammad Kiggundu.

However, a source has told us, that the raid may also be related to fears that ISIS is trying to build cells in Africa, as they face pressure from the Middle east.

These raids and the manner in which they are being conducted also have the capacity to incense Muslims in the country because according to most eyewitnesses Policemen just enter the mosques with no respect for their places of worship.
