As news of the President’s decision to throw out the Army’s command and control structure slipped in, one curious promotion was missed by members of the Public.
That was the promotion of SFC veterans to take over the Military from David Muhoozi as CDF, Mbadi as deputy, and Gavas Mugyenyi as Airforce Commander and Kandiho at CMI.
However, the President decision to promote his son Muhoozi’s deputy Don Nabaasa to Colonel and make him head of the special forces command is the one which demands answers. The reason given for the promotion of Brigadier General Muhoozi to Major General was that SFC was now a fully fledged command and it had to be head by a person at the rank of Major General and above. Now it is headed by a colonel.
In the Promotion and demotion, CDF General Katumba Wamala has been dumped and made the Ministry of State for Works.
Maj Gen David Muhoozi who has been commanding the Land Forces was promoted to General and is the new CDF replacing Wamala.
Maj Gen Mbadi who has been Chief of Staff is now the Deputy Chief of Defence Forces.
Maj Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has been dropped from SFC and appointed Special Presidential Advisor in charge of operations.
Muhoozi’s hitherto deputy, Don Nabaasa gets promoted to Colonel and appointed Commander Special Forces Commander.
Deputy CDF Lt Gen Charles Angina takes over as Deputy commander Operation Wealth Creation.
Peter Elweru of the Kasese Mumbere operation becomes a Major General and moves up from 2nd Division Commander to boss the Land Forces.
Brigadier Charles Bakahumura dropped as CMI boss and gets tossed to Chief of Logistics and Engineering.
Brig Gavas Mugyenyi gets promoted to Maj General and appointed Commander Air Defence.
