Uganda’s Ambassadors in this years’ edition of the CAF champions’ league, Kampala Capital City Authority football club has resumed training today (Monday) a head of the CAF Champions League Preliminary round return leg against CD Primeiro de Agosto with training sessions held at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
According to the information from the Uganda premier league current table leaders’ camp, they changed their training ground from Phillip Omondi stadium to Namboole because they expect to play in a nature glassed stadium in Luanda which isn’t the case with theirs (Phillip Omondi) which is an Artificial Tuff.
“ The Ground is soft and actually playable compared to the condition it has been in, in the recent past, which helps us because we are going to play at a similar ground if not better, the training sessions we shall have here are going to be very useful” KCCA FC’s Assistant Coach Morley Bwekwaso told journalist before the training started.
Mike Mutebi’s boys will carry a one goal advantage to Luanda having defeated Primeiro de Agosto 1-0 thanks to Geoffrey Serunkuma’s header and will be backing on that to progress to next level which first round of the competition.
This highly waited return leg fixture will be played this Sunday 19th February at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda the capital of Angola.
All what the Ugandan champions want is to force any kind of draw for them to progress but if they can even afford to lose 1-0, which would force the game into post-match spot kicks.
Meanwhile Africa’s Top football governing body CAF has appointed Congolese referees Lazard Tsibi Kamba (center referee), assisted by Styven Danek MouTsassi Moyo and Blaise Boutamba to handle this return leg game
