When you talk Fashion Events in Uganda and miss out on the Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs), you are probably in a wrong country.
Started five years ago, the ASFAs has come strong and are one of the best Fashion events in the country growing bigger and better year in year out. The years ASFAs came to pass last evening at Kampala Serena Hotel’s Victoria Hall and it saw slay kings and Queens from all over the country joined by Fashion designers, music promoters, musicians, models and actresses among others.
The usual suspects that were the center of attraction at the event included famous Herbalist Mama Phina, KCCA Executive Director Jeniffer Musisi and the Nabagereka Sylvia Nagginda. The event, as usual, kicked off with a red carpet setting before they were ushered into Victoria Hall.
At the red carpet, some of the awards were given out and others were only there for photo moments were others got interviews from the media. The ASFAs that are organized by celebrity stylist Brian Ahumuza was sponsored by Ciroc vodka, Bell Jamz, and Pemba sports and hosted by Racheal K, Keith Karuhura and Tracy wanjuru from Kenya. Being a Fashion Award ceremony, the show wouldn’t go well without designers showing and on the list was David Tlale, a renowned South African designer. Ttale was showcasing for the second time at the ASFAs.
Other designers that showcased at the event was Sheeba Kasami, Jack Pemba’s girlfriend, Monica Kansiime and Alecool clothing among others. There were musical performances from Fik Fameica, Desire Luzinda, Nutty Neithan and Latinum among others.
Unlike last year, this year’s ASFAs had more categories compared to the ones held in the past years. Here is the list of winners you need to know about the last glitziest night.
