Makerere Students to sit for exams in January as University closes

After the President ordered for the closure of Makerere University last evening, it has been said that the end of semester Examinations are going to be sat in January. The closure of the University unfortunately came a few weeks before Examinations and because of that, there will be no option left than to do the Exams in January.

January which is meant to be for holidays will all be used for sitting Exams which takes about a month to get done. This literally means there will be no holidays for Makerere University Students.

The same scenario happened in 2012 when the students striked towards the end of the year. This was after the University had raised the retake fees to Shs200,000 per paper. It was in that same year that Examinations kicked off immediately after Boxing Day and ended in the last week of January.

The semester as usual begins at the beginning of February.
