If there is a tough tribe in Uganda regardless of gender then it is none other than the Karimojong people. Earlier this week, Singer Levixone shared a poster for his weekend event meant to raise money for charity to help people of Karamoja.
Instead of being proud that their region in being helped, one of the Karimojong facebook user tagged about 10 of otherinfleuntial Karimojongs on Facebook from different regions to come and prove if they know about the event. The first who came started off with spitting fire accusing artistes of tagging Karimojong people and the region as a whole on their concerts claiming they are charity shows yet they are only looking at getting money through fake channels.
One of them brought back the issue of Chameleone holding his One Man One Million show meant to construct boreholes for people in Karamoja region. They went on and said it could be the same trick Levixone is using because as far as they are concerned, Chameleone didn’t build even one borehole anywhere in Karamoja.
After many minutes of ranting, singer Levixone came out and posted a letter showing he is in partnership with Field of Life, a charity organization in 2014 and there plan was to drill water in different parts of Karamoja and Nakapiripirit district to start with.
Talking to Levixone, he said they have a right to complain because they have not seen anyone come to put charity money into use. “We are back with Field of Life in another campaign to build schools in Karamoja and it is the reason the concert is going to happen” Levixone said.
The concert will take place at Uganda Museum tomorrow and according to the singer, all proceeds will go to charity.
