Kabaka Mutebi saves Katikiro Mayiga from being beaten by a Princess

The Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi saved his Katikiro from being beaten up by one of his relatives Nalinya Ruth Kyamulabi of Bugembegembe. The Princess accuses the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga of bringing shame to the Kabaka’s Palace.

This all happened during the annual end of year party at the Mengo royal Palace commonly known as Enkuka. The princess says musicians and revellers were dancing and dressed in a way that showed no respect to the king.

She says that when she tried to approach the Kabaka, the Katikiro and his boys tried to stop her from reaching the Kabaka and this is what got her very angry.

She decided to attack the Katikiro and beat him up. However sensing danger, the Kabaka held the Nalinya and prevented her from reaching the Katikiro.

This was a rare show of descent from the Royal family and it remains to be seen if the Kabaka will stand by his Katikiro when most of his relatives are dissenting.
