President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday urged voters in Iganga municipality to vote for Brenda Asinde Suubi the NRM flag bearer as their district woman Member of Parliament. Museveni”s campaign in Iganga comes after cruelty showcased by the two highly competitive contenders that is the NRM’ Asinde Suubi and the FDC’ Mariam Naigaga .
The cruelty resulted into serious injuries that even led some enthusiasts to Iganga hospital .other contenders in the race are Mariam Nakato who is independent , Aziiza Kakelewe who is also independent and Olivia kwagala Mawanda . Museveni who is the NRM party chairman arrived at the last rally organized at the district headquarters amidst heavy rain pour but this did not stop voters from waiting for his speech.
The NRM secretary Kasule Lumumba and the area member of parliament Peter Mugema danced throughout the rainy period a gesture that kept the crowd entertained and remained at the view .While at the rally, Museveni officially introduced Brenda Suubi to the voters and begged them to cast their votes for her come Thursday the 14th of September.
The president also went ahead and promised to emphasize on why Iganga elector should entrust their votes in Brenda Suubi when he appears on a radio talk show this evening. For starters, Iganga woman MP seat became vacant following death of the late honorable Grace Hailat kaudha who passed away as a result of pregnancy complications at Mulago hospital July early this same year.
