A section of the Democratic Party members are calling for the resignation of Party president Norbert Mao. This comes after the party summoned party members for indiscipline. Some of the party members include State Minister for youth and Children affairs Hon Nakiwala Kiyingi, former Kampala Mayor AL-hajji Nasser Ntege Sebagala, Lira RDC MOI and some members of the Uganda young democrats.
But even before the summoned member appear before the disciplinary committee; some leaders are calling for the resignation of the party president. The leaders claim that the current leadership of the party has lost trail and is tarnishing the image of the party. The leaders also claim that the move to discipline party members is hypocritical since they want to silence party members who have come to protect the face of the party.
Former Kampala Mayor Hon Nasser Sebagala laughed at the summon questioning how the DP leadership can summon a person that quit the party years ago and formed his own after the Mbale delegates conference. Basing on that ,Sebagala fired party president Norbert Mao terming him as an amateur who needs to graduate from a political training school to a party ready to take over supremacy.
