Land forces chief of staff, Brigadier Leopold Kyanda who in recent memory is most remembered for commanding a raid on the home of his father in law and former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi at the start of his presidential bid in 2015, has been sacked as Land forces chief of staff. He has been transfered to National Defense College.
He will be replaced by Brigadier Kasigazi.
Kyanda eas recently named in a fake weapons scandal involving a polish arms dealer and despite many protestations, the knife has finally fallen on his chance.
Kyanda who at one time headed the presidential protection unit, and the Army’s intelligence arm CMI at the height of the great lakes regions wars, was put on katebe after his stint at CMI and this was his second chance.
