Uganda’s top football governing body Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has this afternoon (Wednesday) conducted the draws for the round of quarter finals of the Uganda Cup knock out championship.

According to the draw held at the FUFA headquarters in Mengo, last season winners Vipers who eliminated Kiboga Young (7-1) were drawn against big league side Paida Black Angles (who eliminated Fortport Boda Boda) while Record 10 time Uganda cup Champion Express football club will face off against Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) football club at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.
The Red Eagles have eliminated Fufa Big league side Masavu FC at the round of 16 thanks to Saddam Juma’s brace well as the tax collectors on the other hand defeated fellow UPL side JMC Hippos 5-1 to reach this stage.
According to the FUFA competitions director Ali Mwebe the games will commerce on 9th next month with the finals expected to be hosted in Arua district in May
“Games will start on 9th April 2017 and the exact dates for particular matches to be communicated” Said the FUFA competition director Ali Mwebe
In other games 2016 finalist Onduparaka from west Nile region will travel to Namboole to play against Sadolin FC well as POlice FC will have to wait for the winner between Kataka FC and KCCA FC who are yet to play their round of 16 encounter.
“The team with more goals at the end of the match shall be the winner to progress to the next round of semi final and in case of a tie game will proceed to extra time and up to penalties to determine the winner.” Mwebe confirmed how a team can reach the semi final round.
